In 2017, the Cuban Quai D’Orsay brand began to abandon the style of their previous vitolas – which had been long and slender – for larger and thicker cigars. The brand was originally sold to the French market exclusively, where thinner cigars are in vogue, but when they went global in the 2010’s they added more substantial vitolas like the No.50 and No.54 to their small portfolio.
These new and re-branded vitolas were successful enough that Quai D’Orsay added the No.52 in late 2022. The No.52 is the longest of the new series, a proper Toro size that maintains the familiar D’Orsay herbal, floral, nutty flavour profile. The No.52 is mild to medium in strength with a smoking time of nearly 90 minutes.
